Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo
Linkundla is awed to celebrate with artists in Johannesburg gearing up for the 4TH annual DR. Joshua Nkomo Celebrations scheduled for 30 July at Hillbrow Theatre.

The day event is being organised by Matabeleland Entertainment News and other arts practitioners.

This year the event runs under the theme: "we refuse to forget his sacrifices" and as per its norm it will have free entrance and  will definitely attract a large number of audience and on stage its always fireworks after fireworks. The celebrations will be full of entertainment though the telling and chronicling of the Life of "Umdala Wethu" on its own is pregnant with pragmatics and emotions.

The line up on stage include the following:
The Super Legends Mlambos Express Band, Big5, Ezinkulu Production, Dzalobana Volume1,Ezomdabu Cultural Dance, Madlela-‘Ngamnanaka joe’, Dj Mabura, Amabhubesi Amnyama, Mehlokazulu, Zinjaziyamluma, Abafana bakaMzilikazi, Amajahamahle, Mdluli, Idlamuva, IGqishamkantsha, Thabo Arts, Adomeco, Nicky, Sabelo Sgabade, Inkunzi Yomanzamnyama, Bongani Mncube, Abafana bakaGodlowayo, and many more to be confirmed.

Speaking to one of the Chief organisers Mr Mongezi Mpofu aka Dj Mthwakazi said preparations were now at an advanced stage and called upon all people to support the event. He further said that there will be leadership awards for the outstanding figures of the Zimbabwean community living in South Africa.

Mongezi went on to say that Madlela is eager to become the ‘man of the match’ on the day as he is set to drop his newly released Rhumba single, following the trending hit song 'SamaMoe-ng'zakunanka tjo'.
When asked whether Madlela-Skhobokhobo-Power will match the electrifying footwork of Mlambos Stars aka Eziqed'Amazwane's vibrating dancers ,the charming Dj Mthwakazi had this to say  " let’s wait for the day because there will be many surprises".

Indeed surprises are what people would love to witness especially considering that the event on itself is riding on a name that was coloured with political surprises, twists and turns. Those who do not understand this dictum will be privileged enough to hear an emotionally packed poem titled "Izifis'ezingafezekanga" by the newly published Zenzele M.M.M Nkomo.

From stanza to stanza the audiences will be taken through the historically emotional plane to as far afield as Russia via Zambia and upon landing they will help each other to wipe off the tears. Yes there will be mixed feelings, tears of joy and tears of sorrow!
Mpofu further elaborated that they wanted to walk the talk by projecting to the world that being away from home does not take that home away from the hearts of the Diasporas citizens.

It is reported that a number of arts managers have confirmed that their artists will show support by performing for free , others went on to even donate their musical equipment to supplement the ones already booked.

Different arts practitioners and stakeholders like ZIDAFO, Tsampani Events Management, Usungulo Arts Consultancy, Shilolo Media House, Radio Mthwakazi Fm, Dipro Fm have also expressed their support for the event. Indeed the name Mqabuko bespeaks of ‘unity’.
