ARE YOU CONSCIOUS THAT
12 August is International Youth Day?
On this day WE will
convene a creative Conference for 300 delegates to tackle issues affecting
youth economic and unemployment status as a way to map ways on how the youth
themselves can be an active resource in emancipating themselves from the
dungeons of poverty and do spot checks on how the government has been
contributing in curbing the unemployment scourge.
Zimbabwe has around 95%
formal unemployment[1].
This is alarming and may be a recipe for disaster as youths may lose focus and
find themselves ensnared in counter-progressive activities.
This will be a Day long Conference to be held in Bulawayo[2].
The Conference is set to attract major stakeholders and give youths
representing different constituencies an opportunity to engage on a
constructively disruptive conversation on how the road to 2030 can be realized in eradicating poverty and achieving sustainable production and consumption.
Gandhi
says, “Poverty is the worst form of
violence and injustice”, hence youths need to be in the forefront in the
cabbing of it and be actively involved in eradicating it.

industries have closed shop.
